"When she was going through the breakup, she couldn't sleep properly. Every morning she'd wake at four or five and lie there, mind running. A friend suggested meditation. She tried. Couldn't sustain it. Her thoughts got louder. She started doing something else: every morning when she woke up, she'd reach for the bracelet on her bedside table and run her fingers over the beads one by one. No reason. Just giving her hands something to do. And somehow, her thoughts slowed down a little. That bracelet stayed with her for about three months. During those months it was her anchor.
